Apparently, the plan was that if they put the server room
on the 8th floor they were safe from most any natural
disater that might happen, especially flooding. And since
the server room used to be regular office space, they went
to the extra trouble of disabling the water based fire
suppression system and had installed a shiney new Halon
system.

But, as Murphy would have it, earlier this week their
server room ended up with approximately 10,000 to 12,000
gallons of hot water in it, needless to say bringing the
system to a crawl.

So, after all had settled and the last mop and bilge pump
left the server room. We come to find out, the only hot
water heater on the roof for the entire building was
conviently located directly above the server room.

Murphy wins again.
