[ale] Wifi weirdness



Update -- I've been off the net for a day or so due to weather.

Loading RH8 on the second laptop allowed the wifi card to work.
It's a stopgap, but better than nothing. I'll investigate the
other suggestions re. iwpriv etc. in the near future.
