Still no tape :(

Any more suggestions anyone?

=== current status:
The DVD works fine, I just had not tried it with 9.2, so now I have
access to all the rpms.

With mt_st installed I now have stinit.

running stinit causes the kernel module "st" to be loaded, but
/dev/tape and /dev/st0 are still not tied to anything.

With a 2.4 kernel (where it works) I get the below in messages during
the boot sequence:

>> Oct 1 09:02:01 tapeserver kernel: (scsi2:A:2): 40.000MB/s
transfers (20.000MHz, offset 8, 16bit)
>> Oct 1 09:02:05 tapeserver kernel: Vendor: IBM Model:
ULTRIUM-TD1 Rev: 12U5
>> Oct 1 09:02:05 tapeserver kernel: Type: Sequential-Access
            ANSI SCSI revision: 03
>> Oct 1 09:02:05 tapeserver kernel: blk: queue c3f21e14, I/O limit
4095Mb (mask 0xffffffff)
>> Oct 1 09:02:08 tapeserver kernel: st: Version 20020805, bufsize
32768, wrt 30720, max init. bufs 4, s/g segs 16
>> Oct 1 09:02:08 tapeserver kernel: Attached scsi tape st0 at scsi2,
channel 0, id 2, lun 0

With the 2.6.8 kernel from SUSE I only get:

>> Dec 1 11:45:39 tapeserver kernel: st: Version 20040403, fixed
bufsize 32768, s/g segs 256

In /proc I have:
# cat /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/2 # I have 2 3ware cards in the smae
system that are scsi0 and scsi1

Adaptec AIC7xxx driver version: 6.2.36
