At this point, I'd try looking at the settings for sshd on the Linux box
(/etc/ssh/sshd_config, I believe). E.g. is the sftp subsystem defined,
and does the sftp-server executable it points to exist (I think some scp
implementations may actually use the sftp subsystem, if it is defined).
~ Check for other things like what protocols are allowed (if the server
will only allow protocol 2, and your clients expect protocol 1, it might
give a problem).
