I would say that is quite cynical. I will say that being in the work
force for over 30 years, I've had some great jobs and I've had some
lousy jobs. The bottom line is, keep your skills up, so that when you
find you're in that lousy job, moving on is not painful. Although I
spent 26 years at AT&T, I held a number of positions. When I got bored,
or changes were not for the better, I moved on. My last 15 years with
AT&T I worked for 4 different organizations, two of which were with the
labs. Every change was my decision. Finally, I left on my terms. Oh
yeah, I had a lot of luck too.
