It's just my two cents on the subject, but I would suggest that you download fedora core 1 and use it instead of SuSE 9
I recently tried SuSE 9 Professional out on my laptop a while back, and I did not care for it. It was too different from Redhat,
I do not like the YaST tool you have to use to do most everything on a SuSE system. It's pretty bad when you can not even specify
which ethernet device to use when you are setting up a connection. I have a Xircom PCMCIA 10/100 nic card in my laptop, and I have a orinoco Silver
802.11B wireless card and it kept trying to make the wireless connection I set up use the Xircom card no matter what I did to try to get it to work properly.
It even did this to me after I manually edited the networking config files.
Fedora works great for me though, I have no complaints about it.
