[ale] What gcc for RH 9 kernel?

I'm trying to build a module for my RH 9 system.  I'm using the RH kernel.  
The module instructions say to be sure to use the same compiler for the 
module as is used for the kernel.

How can I tell what gcc version RH used?  Or does anyone know which one they 
use?

I appear to have gcc 3.2.2 installed.  Does RH still compile with 2.9.5, or 
some such?
