Presentation: The Battle of the lesser Distros or Windows replacements

When: March 18, 2004

Where: Kennesaw State University, Clendenin Hall, room CL 1007

Cast of Characters: William Bagwell, Dow Hurst, Ray Knight, Matthew
Macumber, Emil P. Man, and Geof Myers.


The presentation this month will include the installation of
Xandros, Lycoris and LindowsOS.  These are some of the lesser known
distributions, but all claim to provide easy migration for the average
Windows user.  The installations will go on at the same time in the
same room and we are planning on having all three machines attached
to projectors.  Thanks for the assistance of William Bagwell, Dow
Hurst, Ray Knight, Matthew Macumber, Emil P. Man, and Geof Myers.
(Note the politically correct alphabetical name listing)  Special
thanks to Dow for loaning the hardware for the demonstration, Ray for
providing the latest version of Lycoris and Geof for providing the
Lindows and Xandros distributions.

There will also be a door prize that includes a boxed version of
LindowsOS, and, if Xandros provides one in time, a current download
version of Xandros.
