I use www.jvds.com (formerly 65535.net) for hosting.  They're partnered
with 123-reg.co.uk for domain registration.  They're probably not the
cheapest around, but they're not bad.  They've expanded their services
since I signed up.  Two things I like: they're very Linux-friendly (you
can host on Linux or BSD) and they have live support via IM which is
usually very responsive.  JVDS is a UK company, but I think their
servers for US customers are actually in New York.
