I installed a new version of parted and when I go to run it, I get:
[root at localhost parted-1.6.8]# /usr/local/sbin/parted
/usr/local/sbin/parted: error while loading shared libraries: libparted-1.6.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
So, if I look for the related libraries in /usr/local/lib, I get:
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 19 Mar 29 19:22 libparted ->
libparted-1.6.0.0.8
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 19 Mar 29 19:22 libparted-1.6.0 ->
libparted-1.6.0.0.8
- -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 309664 Mar 29 19:21 libparted-1.6.0.0.8
- -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 436272 Mar 29 19:21 libparted.a
- -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 719 Mar 29 19:21 libparted.la
Then, I run ldconfig. But if I go through the entire output of ldconfig, I
don't see any of the libraries listed above. And , yes, /usr/local/lib is
definitely in /etc/ld.so.conf. There is something about these libraries that
makes ldconfig refuse to read them. I have never encountered anything like
this before.
