[ale] Recording "iPod"

I love the photo iPod and would love to buy one except it doesn't have 
the critical feature I need. I need a "line-in" plug so I can record 
audio directly to my iPod or equivalent from another device. There are 
some voice mic recorders but they don't accept a plug input and their 
quality is quite poor. Anyone know of an accessory or another player 
that has this ability?
