Is anyone out there running the latest version of Slackware (v10.2)? If
so, have you tried to compile anything.
An older server (P450, 256M RAM) that was running Slack v7.1 had a HD
that bit the dust this week. New HD installed, and loaded on Slackware
v10.2 last night. All of the packages that come with it run, but trying
to compile anything using the provided gcc version 3.3.6 has been a
bust. This was a fresh installation on a clean HD, so there is no
change of old libraries infilitrating the setup.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the "joy." Used to be that
Slackware was a tight, reliable distro that you could compile just about
anything with. It seems that this latest implementation of gcc with
Slack v10.2 can't compile squat.
