[ale] difference among Seagate, WesternDigital & Maxtor ?
Hi Courtney,
There are still other alternatives. Samsung has some real cheap drives, are not too hard to find, and I've found them to be more reliable than Western Digital. I usually go either Seagate or Maxtor for IDE, because they are the easiest to buy locally, and easiest to get replaced worldwide. Be sure to check the warranty periods! I don't suggest buying any IDE drive with less than a 3yr warranty on it. Hitachi & Fujitsu are still out there too. Hitachi drives are probably a step above Samsung/WD, and Fujitsu IDE drives a step below.
