I use several that are listed on the opensuse site in the downloads 
section.  I tend to use the ftp.ale.org since it is quite fast.  In fact 
with the new delta rpm format I've noticed a significant speed increase 
with updates.  There is docs on enabling apt for suse with the 10.1 
supersuse distro.  I can use Yast2 or apt now on the laptop.  Explore 
the docs on installing and maintaining the enhanced suse 10.x on the 
opensuse site.
