I'm looking to help my current company build a small linux distro to
allow them to perform "auditing" of PCs, Servers, and Notebooks.
We're looking to build a little custom distro that is PXE/Network/CD
bootable, can boot on a range of devices, and will have some scripts to
perform a few various tasks, collect a little data, maybe shred a drive
or two, and then reboot....
We have used DBAN (Boot and Nuke), and some of the Knoppix Live CDs,
including the Knoppix STD Live CD, but are ready to build our own. We
just want a little help from someone who's gone through the process of
building and maintaining a distro, and perhaps has some knowledge in
writing some scripts to perform various linux-related tasks.
First off, does anyone know of any companies that specialize in
providing some "Linux" support/consulting? Also, any help, advice, or
offering of services for pay is appreciated and encouraged....
