However, the ssh client does not return for almost exactly two hours (+/- 30 
seconds).  This doesn't happen EVERY time we do it, but it's often enough to 
be a big concern to us.

Given all the smart people here, I though I'd see if anyone has any ideas.  I 
have not yet turned up the debug level of sshd, but I will.
