Try and locate the rc file that mounts the filesystems.  I don't recall 
what that is in Mandriva, but it is the boot script in the rc directory 
on SuSE.

Put a 'set -x' at the top of the script and you'll get a bunch of 
verbose output at boot you should be able to see what it is that is 
stalling on.
