[ale] Text vs. Html

Does anyone have documentation as to the percentage
of e-mail recipients nowadays who choose to receive their e-mail in
text as opposed to in html format? I am referring to
the general population ... not technically savvy users
such as those on the ale or other computer oriented mailing lists.
