I don't think either is a solution for the request. He's looking for
something that's easy to configure and secure. VNC is not secure,
unless it's over ssh or some other venue.
openvpn would work without vnc, but openvpn is not easy to configure.
I don't know of any user configurable ipsec or pptp solution for
windows<->Linux.
