mozilla products create lock files in their profile directories while
they're running.  you need to delete this file to be able to get mozilla
 to start again.  it should be .mozilla/firefox/YOURPROFILE/lock for
firefox; i'm not sure what it would be for mozilla.  bu sure it's the
lock file you delete, and NOT parent.lock
