[ale] Evolution Spam Filtering

I have been using Evolution 2.6.1 on Ubuntu 6.06 since slightly after
Ubuntu 6.06 was released.  Up until last week the integration with Spam
filtering seemed to be serving its intended purpose as I would very
seldom have any SPAM in my inbox.  Now it appears that something has
changed as my inbox is flooded with spam and no messages are being sent
to the Junk folder.  I have Edit->Preferences->Mail Preferences->Junk
checkboxes "Check incoming mail for junk" and "Include remote tests"
both checked.  Anyone have any ideas on why this suddenly became totally
ineffective?
