PHP is is another good language for simple db<->web applications. It's
straightforward, well documented, and widely supported. The main drawback
of PHP is that it lends itself to ugly code (it has it's roots in perl).
It's not impossible to write or find good php code, just don't be surprised
if you stumble across some truly horrifying kludgy hacks.
