[ale] Debian gpg usage...

I'm trying to
    apt-get update
and am getting the err msg:

    signatures could not be verified because the public key is not
available.

When I
    gpg --list-keys
I get
    a "pub" key listed

How do I make the public key available to the sources.list candidate ?
