[ale] Notebook Recommendations?

I just bought a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad R61, and i'm running Kubuntu Feisty
on it (a few minor hardware issues like sound, but nothing i can't deal
with).  I got it for about $1100.  But like Brian said, why not avoid
the microsoft tax altogether?  http://www.system76.com/ : systems with
Ubuntu pre-installed, with support, for a lot less than most other places.
