I will add one more thing.  You may be confused, "based on Linux",
because they provide a product that includes a Linux system.  I believe
this is called "ESX".  I think the motivation is to make life easier by
creating a linux distribution that is stripped and includes thier
virtualization engine.

I use VMWare Server 2.0.  When USB support was added ot VMware
it was very nice!  What would be better is if I could export a PCI slot
from the host to the guest.
