I agree, but it is a double-edged sword due to the temptation to simply reply to
an existing email and use it as the basis of a new post. Unless that header
line was also able to be edited it would cause problems.
Hmmm.... I just checked, and indeed the list does have an In-Reply-To header
line. As James pointed out, apparently Gmail is smart enough to recognize the
change in the Subject and the exception is made to the filtering.
