[ale] what to do with older PC's

I am sure you all have faced this.

I have 5 machines at home (3 desktops and 2 laptops at home that are lying
dumb not doing anything.

AMD cpu AM2+ BE 2450
AMD cpu AM2+ (dont know proc name)
Pentium 5 old CPU based machine, not sure what do even do with this, junk
it ?

Pentium i5 old generation laptop with display taken out.es
Dual Core laptop, but display not cooperating, works well with external
monitor.  May be a HTPC  or a NAS storage machine (connect all my drives
with USB or PCMCIA-esata).

Any inputs ?
