The stupidity of trying to "fix" DHCPv6

Ok, so now we've identified the problem.

How exactly does adding default gateway information to DHCPv6 solve this problem?

Are there perhaps easier and more timely ways to solve it?

(And it's insane that Windows still exhibits this completely broken behavior.)
