It could be that, but for more flexibility you might want to look at something like
what we use in our in-house server rooms. It's basically like a track lighting
system on steroids; you can add or move boxes whenever you want without
having to shut down power to everything. The boxes contain breakers
for your circuits, and can have builtin outlets, outlets hanging on cords, or
can be hardwired to your equipment. If you need to move a rack, or decide
you need extra circuits, it is simle to do without having to call an electrician
(unless you happen to be goverened by union rules that require it).
The brand we use in our in-house server rooms is StarLine busway

as well.
