I won't go off on the whole DIVX thing, except to say I won't buy one and as
a medium/format/whatever you want to call it, I think it'll die.

Circuit City... I had a policy in place not to shop there because they are
so freakin' pushy. I went last year with a friend who wanted to look at TVs
(we happened to go to see the Philips plasma and were looking around). Not
one, not two, but three salespeople accosted us and asked us if we needed
help, etc. We had to say no 2 or 3 times to get them to leave. Except for
the last one, who just kept pressing and pressing. She bugged us for 5
minutes. We got angry and asked for the manager. Guess what? She was the
manager. No justice there. I gave her a 5 minute lecture on how we're their
prime demographic: Young 20-somethings, unmarried (sorry Robbie, you're out
of the demographic), highly-paid, tons of disposable income. I don't think
she got it.

Screw Circuit City, I hate those guys. I have to confess, however, I bought
my DVD player there because everyone else in town didn't have any in stock.
None, nada. And I just wanted it in my hot little hands right then. I was
weak, and I repent.
