Actually, "the fine print" at
http://www.State.GA.us/Departments/dor/salestaxholiday/sth_list.htm
states that the first $1500 of a single purchase of a computer system AND
eligible parts and supplies is exempt.
So unless you're buying a complete system, the sales tax for computer stuff
still applies. No telling what rule would apply if one were buying all the
pieces parts (case/PS, mobo w/chip, HDD, RAM, etc.) that eventually comprise
a "computer base unit".
<sigh /> Guess I'll settle for a new shirt or two ...
