On my fresh new Debian "stable" box, on which I have installed
only the base system from CD and am relying on APT for everything
else, I do this:

  joe at whyknot: > apt-get install gnome-panel
  ...
Sorry, gnome-panel is already the newest version.

Of course, the first time I ran that apt-get command
it seemed to install gnome-panel...

  joe at whyknot: > gnome-panel
  bash: gnome-panel: command not found

joe at whyknot: > which gnome-panel
  No gnome-panel in <every directory in PATH>

WTF?

Thanks,

-- Joe
