YDL 4.1 is based on FC4. The problem with YDL is that they rarely do updates,
and there aren't really any 3rd party repositories. I recommend FC4 ppc, as
they have current updates and the 'extras' repository.

Debian also supports PPC, and I believe a bunch of the ppc kernel hackers use
debian, so I'd expect good hardware support there too.
