[ale] please help with interface ppp0

The problem:

Each time i dial up my ISP this message appears on the console:

	couldn't find interface ppp0: no such device

(But i make contact and everything seems to work fine.)

My limited resourses led me to linuxconf
where i selected config-networking-client tasks-PPP/SLIP/PLIP.

I get a pop-up that looks something like the following:

  PPP/Slip/Plip configuration
-------------------------------------
| Logical device Configuration name |
-------------------------------------
  |Quit|  |Add|  |Help|
  ------  -----  ------

When i select ANY of Q/A/H linuxconf aborts with this
message: 

	Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
