And here we are in a day and age when multiple companies are 
re-introducing TCP/IP stacks in user space along side the kernel's 
TCP/IP stack.

My $EMPLOYER is doing it with their own code.  I'm fairly sure that 
NetFlix and CloudFlare are doing it too.
